Many of you already know that my wife, Tiffany, and I have been preparing to run our first marathon this year. We have spent the last 12 weeks doing an intense marathon preparation program to get us ready to run. Along with running several miles a week I added a few strength workouts to the program to help us overcome the muscle fatigue associated with long distance running. Building off the programs that other great runners have shared, I was able to create a program that suited my needs and still prepared us for the race. The last several weeks have been physically and mentally challenging, but doable and as of yesterday the bulk of the program is complete. This coming weekend 8/23/15 I am excited to say we will be running our first full marathon in Santa Rosa, CA. This race will be a true celebration of our training program and we are excited for the opportunity to test ourselves. Just finishing the program was an accomplishment and I am excited to see how well it translates into running the full 26.2 miles.
